Alison Zai has created many incredible micro-comics that explore very specific social situations and perfectly encapsulate even more specific feelings. While all of this is present in Bee Real, it also doubles as a beautiful story, hilariously told.

A bizarre parable about an enterprising but ill-informed bee who sets out to murder the sun, the story goes to some truly unexpected places. Each new panel is more unexpected than the last, building towards a truly lovely romance that is doomed to fail before it even begins. The Sun knows this, while the Bee has to learn to accept it.

When you realise it's all been in service of a killer punchline, you won't know whether to laugh or cry.
