3. Magneto #1 (Marvel)
Remember that scene from X-Men: First Class where Michael Fassbender's Magneto was in a bar in Argentina, hunting down a pair of former Nazi officers? What if that were an entire series that's the premise writer Cullen Bunn has taken with Magneto's solo series. Magneto's left Cyclops's X-Men splinter group and decided that if you want a job done right, you do it yourself, tackling problems to the burgeoning new mutant race head on. Magneto walks the line between hero and villain, dealing with real threats to mutants just wanting to live their lives but doing so with the extreme force that made him such a formidable foe for the X-Men for so long. At the same time as he's acting as a bloodthirsty guardian angel for mutants everywhere, he's being hunted by SHIELD and other enemies, leading him to realise he can't go it alone and teaming up with some unlikely partners. Joined by artist Gabriel Hernandez Walta, Cullen Bunn's Magneto #1 looks to be an edgy, exciting new title for all X-Men fans.
