After Flash travels through time, changing the events of history the other members of the Justice League and their world drastically transform.

Superman’s ship lands in Metropolis, and so rather than being brought up in a wholesome rural family he is captured and raised in a lab, never seeing the sun. Thus he lives as a weak, powerless prisoner.

Requiring Superman’s help, Cyborg, Batman, and Flash infiltrate the facility where he is kept, and break him out. When leaving Superman is exposed to the sun for the first time, and immediately lifts off the ground in flight. When soldiers try to stop him leaving he accidentally melts one of their guns with his heat vision, before flying off into the clouds, shocked by what he has done.

Later when all the heroes are in battle, Superman returns to help bring the fighting to an end with forceful intervention.
