10 Awesome Antiheroes From British Comics Creators
10. Chloe Sampson - Jupiter's Legacy
The comic Jupiter’s legacy was created by writer Mark Millar and artist Frank Quietly in 2013. The comic follows the story of the children of superheroes who have become household names for saving the world. These characters were not the noble heroes that their parents had been and the protagonist of the comic, Chloe Sampson, is true to this idea.
Chloe starts off the comic as a socialite, spending her time not saving anyone, but instead partying, drinking and doing drugs. When her brother, manipulated by their uncle, takes over the world with a group of the superheroes. Chloe, her husband, and her son hide out while being hunted by the now in power heroes, who seek out and arrest any others who could challenge them.
This is the point where Chloe becomes a true hero, once her son is kidnapped. She and her husband begin to lead a resistance against her brother. She is motivated, at first, by a love for her son and then a desire to free the world from her tyrannical brother.
Chloe begins the story with no desire to help anyone but herself. Her story is ultimately very human, as she goes from a selfish, vapid drug addict to a hero fighting to free the world.
