7. Hellblazer
Yes, there's technically been a John Constantine video already, but it was an adaptation of the Keanu Reeves film. And the only thing Constantine had in common with the character from the comics was the character's name and his penchant for chain-smoking (and in the end, they even managed to screw that up). In the comics, John Constantine doesn't rely as much on fighting skills. He's more of a con man and a quick-talker, using his mind to win battles. A Constantine game should be more about making choices and finding ways to manipulate people and magical knowledge in order to accomplish the goal. My favorite example of Constantine's quick-thinking is in the comics when he's suffering from cancer. He summons three separate demons and sells his soul to each one. Then kills himself and all three come to collect. He then gives them a choice: tear Hell apart in a massive war over his soul, or cure him of his cancer and allow him to live out the rest of his life. Less of an action-adventure game, more of a story-based game. Slipping into the role of John Constantine, players will have to exploit his contacts and his cunning wit, finding ways to talk fast to get out of danger. More Walking Dead than Devil May Cry, where the choices you make have a profound impact on the story being told. Toss in some Hellblazer guest-stars like Swamp Thing and Zatanna and you've got the makings of a great game with a lot of replay value.
