10. The Sixth Gun
Now before people start jumping down my throat with this one and saying that this should be an honourable mention and not actually on the list, please bear with me. The Sixth Gun was already in the production stage with NBC a few months ago and casting had begun for the pilot and season, but due to lack of support for the series after the pilot episode failed to impress the show was dropped. This shows that somewhere out in the ether there is someone who has faith in this comic and wants to bring it to the small screen. This means that at some point in the near future we may not actually have to wait that long to see this one being brought back to life. The story, set shortly after the end of the American Civil War, focuses on six guns (hence the title) with magical abilities that are connected to the owner once they come into possession with the firearm, until he or she dies. It follows Drake Sinclair and Becky Montcrief as they try and evade the darker forces of the world that want to possess all six guns and use their abilities for evil. Having just the right mix of Western influence and supernatural intrigue this show, if ever given the chance to finally get on the screen, could be a sure fire hit with audiences who are looking for something slightly different than the usual comic book fair of superheroes in spandex!
