This is it, the number one series on our countdown. We mentioned that Image excels when it comes to science fiction and we feel this is the very best example of that. Rick Remender (Captain America) and Matteo Scalera (Wolverine and the X-Men) have delivered a truly stunning series, with a concept so brilliant that it opens up a seemingly limitless amount of potential stories to be told. 'Black Science' follows Grant McKay, a scientist who has created a device named The Pillar which allows him to punch holes through the barriers between dimensions, allowing travel to all possible universes. McKay has his family and co-workers with him whenever The Pillar malfunctions (or rather, is sabotaged), sending them all careening randomly through countless universes, never knowing where they are going to end up, only how long they will be there before The Pillar transports them again. The series is breathlessly exciting and a visual marvel, thanks to the sterling work by Scalera. It's colourful and vibrant and features an array of beautifully realised alien worlds and races. But at it's core, it's the story of a flawed man who has let his family down, and now has to do everything in his power to keep them safe and get them home. We hope that this journey through Image's awesome series' has whet your appetite and maybe even convinced you to try a few of them out. Do we already have many Image fans out there? Are there any great series' that we've left out of our list? Sound off in the comments below.
