10 Beloved Comic Book Characters Movie Fans Hate

Jennifer Garner first played the Sai-wielding Assassin in the much-maligned but under-appreciated, Daredevil film back in 2003, which didn't serve as a totally accurate introduction to the character adapted from Marvel comics or seem to leave much room for a follow-up, not that anyone was chomping at the bit for one.

But in 2005 Garner was back, and the world was actually gearing up for the first-ever female-led Marvel Comics film which predictably, managed to flop hard at the Box-Office, and although some critics praised her performance and blamed other areas, the film has been seen as a career killer for Garner.

Nothing about Elektra as a film or character was satisfying for anyone who watched it, from the action sequences which looked like rip-offs of better movies, the woeful script and its handling of the Hand-Chaste conflict, and the absence of any real atmosphere or character drama all contributing to ruining not just the film, but the reputation of the character for years.

Elektra would not be seen onscreen again until the arrival of the second season of Netflix's Daredevil , more than ten years after this diabolical solo outing, but not long enough for fans to totally forget their ire at how the character was handled the first-time round.
