10 Best Batman Villain Triumphs

1. Joe Chill Kills Bruce Wayne€™s Parents

Batman_Joe_Chill_Thomas_Wayne_Earth-Two_001 This is what started it all. If not for Joe Chill killing Bruce Wayne€™s parents, there would be no Batman. On their way home from a night on the town, Joe Chill mugs Thomas and Martha Wayne. The mugging escalates and he ends up killing them. Bruce is left in Crime Alley, with his dead parents laying at his feet. As far as superhero origin stories go, there is none more tragic than that of Batman. After their death, Bruce Wayne vowed to avenge his parents' death and prevent anyone else from ever having to endure what he went through. This is a triumph because it is the single-most important event in Batman€™s mythology. No matter how many criminals Batman puts away, no matter how many robberies he stops, the fact remains that his parents are dead. He can€™t bring them back. His parents' death is the one thing that he can never let go of. Every time he visits Crime-Alley, Joe Chill gets another triumph because he is the one that forced Bruce Wayne to become Batman. He took away Wayne€™s opportunity at a normal life. Without Joe Chill, Batman would have never had his back broken by Bane, put Jason Todd or Barbara Gordon in harm€™s way, hell, without Joe Chill, The Joker wouldn€™t even exist. In the end, it wasn€™t a super villain or multi-dimensional being that got the best of Batman, it was a simple mugger named Joe Chill. Not only did he destroy the life of Bruce Wayne, but he also destroyed every life living in Gotham. Anything I missed? Any notable triumphs that I should have acknowledged? Let me know in the Bat-comments!
