10 Best Batman Villain Triumphs

6. Darkseid Kills Batman

Well, it certainly doesn€™t get more triumphant than killing Batman, does it? That€™s what happened in Final Crisis and the Batman R.I.P storyline. Well, sort of. This is one of the muddier triumphs on the list but it none-the-less affected the DC Universe for an amount of time. Batman, while fighting Darkseid, gets hit with the Omega Sanction, which is a killing blow. Superman is then seen holding the charred body of Batman and comic fans everywhere were left with a tear in their eye. Of all the villains to do in the Dark Knight, it wasn€™t even someone in his own Rogues Gallery to do it. Of course, we later find out that Superman was holding one of the many clones of Batman and not the real deal, but Batman is still missing. Turns out, he was thrown back in time by the Omega Sanction and not actually killed. Still, Batman was out of commission for some time that lead to Nightwing taking up the mantle of the Bat. As convoluted and confusing as this sounds, it still goes down as a triumph because comic fans believed Bruce Wayne to be dead. This also sent a message to any other villains that even Batman could be killed (or at least thrown through time for a bit).
