10 Best Batsuits In DC History

1. Dark Knight Returns Battle Armour

This exoskeleton is the grand-daddy of them all. Without it, without Frank Miller's far-out ideas, this list may not exist.

This clunky-looking armour was designed for one reason only - to kill a god.

In the Dark Knight Returns world, an aging Bruce knew that at some point, he and Superman would be the last two standing. Aware that even in his prime he was no match for Clark, Bruce designed a weapon that would even the odds, at least long enough for Bruce's plan of faking his own death to succeed.

The armour allows Batman to hand Superman a beating unlike any he had ever received from a human. Batman takes advantage of every tactic possible - enhanced strength, X-ray seeking missiles, a sonic cannon, using Gotham's electrical grid to shock Superman, explosives, jet boots, and acid spray.

Bruce's final ace-in-the-hole is synthetic kryptonite, shot at Clark courtesy of the Green Arrow. The kryptonite isn't strong enough to kill, oh no. Bruce simply wants to slow Superman down; to make Clark listen while Bruce reinforces that he is now the only man ever to beat him and to stay out of his way.

The fight is iconic, the armour design is legendary, and the story is a masterpiece.
