Tom King is one of the hottest names in the biz right now. Having come off a stellar run on The Vision and having embarked one just as good with Batman, the writer is seemingly unable to do any wrong.
Another marquee success of DC Rebirth, King's Batman is everything there is to love about the character. Much like the new bat-suit the character sports (that combines both old and modern bat-symbols), Rebirth's Dark Knight combines the best of both bat-worlds, presenting a serious and dark take on the character that is at once refreshing and not, thankfully, all that glum.
The series continues the fine run of form it established in 2016, and undoubtedly the highlight has to be the Elmer Fudd special (we're not joking). There, King reimagined the classic Looney Tunes character as a villain dead-set on starting up an open season against the Caped Crusader. And yes, it was amazing.

He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well.
In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
