10 Best Comic Books Of 2017 (So Far)

4. The Unworthy/Mighty Thor

Mighty Thor Asgard War
Marvel Comics

Undoubtedly one of the finest runs to have graced Marvel in its modern history, Jason Aaron's stint on Thor continues into 2017 with a remarkable sense of purpose and adventure. Also it's gorgeous, so it has that going for it too.

Aaron's series continued this year with both Unworthy Thor and Mighty Thor titles colliding with each other. You know what else collides? Asgard and the Shi'ar Empire. Thor went full on cosmic this year, and it was brilliant.

It's not a massive departure for the character, but certainly, the series' navigation of both the mystical and cosmic sides of the Marvel Universe is impressive. More importantly it's enjoyable, and the interplay between both the Odinson and Jane Foster's Thor has been great to see on the page. Even more so, when you consider how long audiences had to wait to discover what made the Thor so unworthy in the first place.
