10 Best Comic Books Of 2018

3. Mister Miracle

Mister Miracle 12
DC Comics

Mister Miracle may have boasted something of a confusing ending (one that promises to be explored further come next year), but there's no denying that its second half was just as magnificent as its first.

Stunningly illustrated from start to finish, Tom King and Mitch Gerads' comic was honest, haunting, suspenseful and romantic all at once, and it took things up a whole other gear in 2018. Scott Free came face to face with Darkseid, Big Barda was tremendous from start to finish, and Funky Flashman was... well, he was there too.

No doubt we will learn of Mister Miracle's real fate next year, but for now, we can take solace in the fact the journey itself was brilliant to witness. Raw though it was, the comic's candid approach to mental health was suitably refreshing, and when taken together with the world of the New Gods, provided one of the most compelling stories of the last two years, and one we can't wait to see continue elsewhere in the future.
