10 Best Comic First Issues This Week (Dec 26, 2018)

IDW Publishing released a Marvel Comics all-ages line of comics! Odd as that is, Marvel Action really starts strong for this powerhouse team up. The plot is basic, with the terrorist organization A.I.M. causing some chaos and the Avengers dive headfirst in to stop them, which also features taking out Madame Masque and the U-Foes.

There's always going to be a stigma towards an all-ages book when it comes to hardcore fans since several key writers have made it so that all-ages means you don't have to try but this book never talks down to the reader, and is a fantastic example of being kid-friendly while not ever feeling like it's a downgrade from the main Marvel books, who have been geared towards the teen and young adult readership as of late. Matthew K. Manning expertly handles a style that is simple yet engaging.

The art is the same way. Jon Sommariva on art and Protobunker's colors keeps the characters on point with their iconic looks while keeping the models loose enough for an almost-animated feeling to the whole endeavor. In fact, this is the best all-ages look at the Avengers since the Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon came to an end.
