10 Best Comic First Issues This Week (Jan 2, 2019)

2. Man Without Fear (2019) #1

Daredevil Man Without Fear 2019
Marvel Comics/Kyle Hotz

Daredevil is no more. Matt Murdock lay in a coma thanks to being hit by a truck and now Foggy Nelson sits at his bedside, letting decades of emotion and memories all out. Meanwhile, in his mind, Matt Murdock battles against his subconscious, the Devil, and his past.

This is a book that every Daredevil fan needs to get, even if you're just a fan of the now cancelled Netflix show. Jed MacKay hits the entirety of Matt Murdock in just one issue, where all the baggage that has come throughout, the people who have died alongside Matt, poor decisions, and even that awkward Shadowlands time that no one wants to talk about. It is all laid bare and makes for a surprisingly raw tale.

Paired with some brilliantly moody art by Danilo Beyruth, this is a tour de force on a character that always seems to attract the best and brightest from within Marvel's ranks.
