Haley Mori is a struggling alternative model - someone who poses in lingerie and in the nude for artistic purposes. Down on her luck with money worries and relationship woes, she inevitably falls into the job of her dreams, until money goes missing and things turn sour.

The writer of this, Pat Shand, touted this book as "Breaking Bad by way of Sex and the City" - which is actually a very good way to sum this up. Haley herself is instantly recognizable as a modern person, debt coming out of every pore, reliant on social media and despite her job as a run of the mill alt-model, having a job you strive to survive off is always a challenge. The theme of this is "where is the line drawn when needing money". There is a whole analysis to be made about the every choice Shand made in this but its a must read for that reason.

Then there is the art. Emily Pearson is a goddess of art in this. The style itself is fairly simple but it's what she does from that just oozes with energy. The different subtle changes in the art work throughout, the color palette almost acting as a leitmotif, starting dark and popping the pink and purple pastels to really brighten and see the shift that Haley herself is going through. It's pure perfection.
