Immortal Hulk
Titan Comics

When Joe Hayward goes to confront his cheating wife and her lover at a seedy motel armed with a baseball bat, he unwittingly became ensnared in a domestic terrorist plot. To save Philadelphia in two hours, he will need all the help he can - even the government agent sleeping with his wife!

Duane Swiercynzski brings the brutal humanity he conveyed in his Punisher series to the Titans Comics' imprint Hard Case Crime in a bombastic and raw pulp thriller. It really all can be summed up in the moment that Joe, a corporate drone, finally faces off against the highly-trained agent his wife had been sleeping with.

The script and plot are great, but what elevates this to a must-read is the artwork by Simone Guglielmini and Raffaele Semeraro. The book looks and feels like a serialised crime drama rather than just another comic; in doing so, the action stays grounded without coming off over-the-top or as kinetic as an action-based comic. Add in the washed out colors by Lovern Kindzierski and Chris Chuckry, and it is a phenomenal book to own and just look at.
