10 Best Marvel And DC Supervillains Who've Debuted Since 2000
4. Professor Pyg
Writer Grant Morrison has called Professor Pyg one of the most insane characters he has ever created. That's saying something. But Pyg lives up to the hype.
Created in 2007 as a new villain for Batman, Professor Pyg wears a frightening pig mask and controls an army of Dollotrons, lobotomized humans with special masks fused to their faces. Pyg's goal is to create a race of creatures that are featureless and genderless, true equals. And in Pyg's first appearance, he attempts to transform Robin into yet another of his Dollotrons.
Pyg also surrounds himself with some genuinely chilling partners in his Circus of Strange. That, the pig mask and his lobotomized human army make Pyg one of the creepiest villains ever introduced in the Batman universe.
Best Moment:
After being freed from Blackgate Penitentiary by another villain, Pyg wastes no time in spreading his identity-destroying virus across Gotham. Pyg manages to throw the city into chaos and even comes close to turning the city's top cop, Commissioner Gordon, into a Dollotron. Batman stops Pyg's plans, but Pyg escapes in part by using a drugged-up Gordon as an ally. Pretty sneaky stuff.
