7. Young Harper Row
Harper Row is one of Snyder's contributions to the ever-expanding Gotham cast. A headstrong young person with a genius intellect, strong morals, and penchant for engineering, Harper goes on to become an important ally to Batman (and if you read Batman #28 you'll know she becomes even more relevant). But in Zero Year, she's still a kid and in the backup to Batman #25 we see her standing up to her loser dad who decides to leave her and her younger brother Cullen alone at night to go drinking. It shows how quickly she had to grow up to look after her Cullen as well as Harper's precocious engineering skills that were manifesting even at that young age. If you love Harper Row as much as I do, you'll have enjoyed the little cameo she had in Zero Year and that image of the Bat symbol on her window made in the rain? Stunning.
