Most are probably already familiar with Captain America and his longstanding partner, the Falcon, by this point. The bromance was brought to life brilliantly by the combined talents of Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Cap and the Falcon first teamed up when Sam Wilson escaped the clutches of the Red Skull and organized a resistance. The Falcon became more than just a supporting character in Captain Americas own title, he even got cover billingthroughout most of the 70s, the cover logo read Captain America and the Falcon. Although the friendship between the two characters was downplayed in the 90s, it began to make a resurgence in the 2000s, when Sam once again got cover billing in a new spin-off series, Captain America and the Falcon. Though it was short-lived, it gave us a bit more of the friendship that had been unfortunately shoved into the background. Ed Brubakers seminal run on Captain America brought the relationship back to the fore, with the Falcon becoming one of the featured characters during the time between Steve Rogers death and Bucky taking up the shield. With Steve Rogers now losing his powers and rapidly aging, Cap writer Rick Remender will soon have Falcon take up the shield. Though this is no doubt just a temporary change, it will be nice to see Falcon take on a more prominent role. We just hope Steve is still there to mentor his old friend and partner.
