10 Best Superhero Friendships You Never Knew Existed

3. Spider-Man And Loki

Loki Spider-Man
Marvel Comics

Loki isn't always the most heroic of folk, sure. But as time has gone on, he's more and more been found genuinely trying to be helpful in some regard, even if that's just to try and assuage some of his guilt about being a villain for so many years.

While we're used to him aiding the likes of Thor, Loki is found assisting Peter Parker instead in the aptly named "Chasing a Dark Shadow" story line, which takes place while the trickster god is briefly standing in as Doctor Strange (it's a long story).

When Spidey needs help with a particularly mysterious villain named Morwen, he searches for Stephen Strange, only to instead find this replacement Sorcerer Supreme. While he's not stoked, the pair begin to form a surprising but wonderful bond, which is sealed with them eating hot dogs on a rooftop, like all good vigilante buddies eventually do.

Tragically, this story is only two issues long - spanning all of Amazing Spider-Man #503-504. It's a crying shame, because the strange but lovable dynamic between these two could have easily carried a far, far larger number of issues.
