10 Best Superhero Friendships You Never Knew Existed

4. New Super-man And Lex Luthor

Loki Spider-Man
DC Comics

For the vast majority of his history, Lex Luthor has been a villain. In fact, he was only briefly a superhero - and even then, the degree to which he was actually trying to just be a hero and not just gain blackmail and power is pretty questionable.

But, as sketchy as it was, he was at least regard by the general public as a superhero for a while - and a superhero who made a friend in a surprising place.

Though the New Super-Man series got flack for copying Superman - by comic fans who didn't seem to get that this was the point - Kong Kenan is a superhero who represents a very genuine kind of good person. He's often childish, and doesn't think everything through, but when push comes to shove he's willing to do anything to help others.

This in mind, he's a pretty good pick to be the New Super-Man, the Chinese equivalent of the Man of Steel. What he's not so good at, however, is figuring out the true nature of people - hence why he initially is chummy with Lex, unaware that the man isn't the type of person you should totally trust.

Although the pair ultimately split paths when Kenan gets wise to the fact Luthor is pretty sketchy, they're ostensibly buds for longer than you'd expect - because you'd expect their amicability to last for all of two panels.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
