10 Best Supervillains Who Only Appear Once

2. Snowflame - New Guardians #2 (1988)

Codpiece Doom Patrol #70 (1993)
DC Comics

The New Guardians were a superteam bestowed with superpowers by the Guardians of the Universe to keep the cosmos safe. The team was composed of pretty lame characters like Floronic Man, Ram, and Clawman, so it wasn't surprising when their series was cancelled after a year.

However, the second issue of New Guardians has become infamous since the team encounter one of the most ridiculous supervillains ever - a criminal powered by cocaine called Snowflame. Any time he snorts the narcotic, he gains superstrength, pyrokinesis, and an immunity to pain. He can also make anyone as high as kite simply by touching them after he has consumed the drug.

Snowflame proved too powerful for the New Guardians and emerged triumphant upon their first encounter. When the team returned for a rematch, the drug-addicted supervillain shoved an entire batch of coke into his face, amping up his powers. Luckily, Ram chucked Snowflame into a chemical shed, killing him in an explosion.

Despite the fact the rest of this comic's run wasn't particular memorable, no reader will ever forget the New Guardians run-in with Snowflame.
