By far the most horrifying vampire on this list is... Batman? You read that right. When Batman fought Dracula in the Elseworlds tale Batman vs Dracula: Red Rain, a terrible menace was unwittingly unleashed upon the world. Batman may have defeated Dracula, but at a great cost: the Dark Knight was himself turned, with all of the strengths and weaknesses which come with vampirism.

He seemed to be handling it well for much of the book's sequel - that is, until the final moments, where he succumbs to the bloodlust and drains the Joker to death.

Bloodstorm finds the Batman having completely given in to his thirst, treating Arkham Asylum as an all-you-can-eat blood buffet. It's up to Alfred and Commissioner Gordon to put the Bat down, teaming up with Two-Face and Killer Croc to get the deed done.

They ultimately succeed (at the cost of their own lives), but not before bloodsucking Bruce has irrevocably defiled the mantle of the Bat with all of his bloodshed.
