10 Characters Who Have Defeated Apocalypse

This X-Force team operates unbeknown to Cyclops, the creator of the original team, after he supposedly shut down the group. The team is composed of Wolverine, Psylocke, Fantomex, Archangel and Deadpool -- mutants who are each seeking to redeem themselves from past lives where they committed evil or made morally questionable decisions.

Right off the start of the comic, the team give themselves the mission to assassinate Apocalypse who has been reborn as a child. The idea is to end his existence while he's vulnerable as an infant before he can become the threat they know he'll grow to be.

Making their way to where the future tyrant resides, they've come before all manners of obstacles and henchmen to fulfill their mission. However, come the moment they stand before the child none of them are able to make the hard decision and execute him.

There is a lot arguments and back and forth over what to do until it appears as though they've made their decision to rehabilitate Apocalypse and see what kind of mutant he'll grow up to be, only for Fantomex to take advantage of the de-escalated tension and shoot dead Apocalypse.

This final entry stretches the definition of "defeating Apocalypse" considering he was helpless, but the decision to take a life wasn't an easy one.

No one should have the burden of ending a child's life and the scene is akin to 2018's Deadpool 2 movie where the title character humorously goes back in time and contemplates strangling Hitler in his crib, but concludes that he can't go through with it.
