2. Galactus
It is rare that Marvel characters ever crossed over into DC Comics to square off with their characters. Even more rare is to see Darkseid embroiled in a fight with a Marvel character. One time, he did come face to face with Thanos, but they seemed to have duked it out off-screen.
One notable on-screen fight with another Marvel villain for Darkseid did, however, come to him in the form of Galactus.
In a one-off John Byrne issue called The Hunger, an unusually weak and hungry Galactus makes his way to Apokolips to salvage his hunger. Obviously, Galactus' plans to eat the planet didn't sit well with the planet's head tyrant. Darkseid throws everything he can at Galactus to fend off his planet, including a horde of a million minions and an array of his own fatal Omega Beams. This all proves to be for naught as it leaves little to no effect on the Galactus.
Galactus soon learns that he cannot devour Apokolips because the planet has no life giving energies. However, before he walks away, he does give Darkseid a run for his money. Before learning of the true nature of the planet, Galactus brutalizes Darkseid with ease.
