2. Mindless Ones (Marvel Comics)
Granted, this isn't a character - it's more a race - but, if that bothers you, just pretend I'm referring to one of them. Let's call him "Thomas". Thomas is part of a monstrous race of mindless slaves from the Dread Dimensions who were created by Plokta, a Duke of Hell. At some point in the distant past (a point for which the specifics are completely unknown), their dimension was disturbed by the meddling of the wizard king Olnar, who accidentally set the monsters loose upon his domain - that being the Dark Dimension. Their reign of destruction was eventually halted by the intervention of the brother and sister duo Dormammu and Umar, who imprisoned the creatures. Eventually, Dormammu discovered a way to bend the monsters to his will and began to use them to do his bidding. Consequently, the summoning of Mindless Ones for use as henchmen is now a fairly regularly-used spell in the Marvel universe, with other characters such as Doctor Doom having proven capable of summoning them on a couple of occasions. Mindless Ones are superhumanly strong and durable and have proven capable of giving the likes of the Fantastic Four (including the very strong and durable Ben Grimm AKA the Thing) trouble in hand-to-hand combat. However, they also possess a single eye which can be used to fire energy beams, hence their inclusion on this list.
