Whenever Sony was putting everything together for this summer's blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the idea of using Electro as the villain was pitched, we would've loved to have been a fly on the wall. We can just picture a bunch of studio executives being shown a picture of Electro in his classic green and yellow costume, jaws hitting the floor simultaneously in incredulity. We imagine it was all of two seconds before they yelled "Complete redesign, please!" The costume is simply disastrous, especially that pointy mask (you can probably tell that when it comes to comic book costumes, we aren't big fans of ill-conceived headwear). To take a guy who can control electricity - which is pretty terrifying to think of - and stick him in a costume like this simply robs the character of any menace or intimidation. The Jamie Foxx movie redesign was better. But not by much.
