Greta Hayes was an ordinary girl whose identity she forgot when she was killed by her brother, Billy. Because of the nature of her murder, she was unable to cross over to the afterlife. She was captured by the Department of Extranormal Operations and was freed by Robin, Superboy, and Kid Flash, and they offered her a spot on their new team, Young Justice, along with other new recruits Wonder Girl and Arrowette. She only says “Secret” when they met her, but after she learns to communicate again they begin to call her “Suzie”.

Secret became very good friends with the other girls on the team and developed a crush on Robin, to the point that she defended his every order without question and developed animosity for his girlfriend Spoiler. During the Sins of Youth event, an adult Secret and Deadman chased Klarion the Witch Boy to force him to reverse his aging spell. She went so far as to threaten to murder Teekl, Klarion’s feline familiar. Suzie didn’t want to become young again but Robin convinced her.

Hal Jordan, the current Spectre, attempted to mentor Secret but was unable to help her when Darkseid took the character to Apokolips and turned her toward the darkness. Robin convinced her to return to her normal self. A disgusted Darkseid turned Greta into a normal human girl who no longer had any powers.
