10 Comic Book Characters Who Are Just TOO POWERFUL!

2. Dr Manhattan

Kingdom Come Superman
DC Comics/Gary Frank

Watchmen's Dr Manhattan started life as Dr Jon Osterman, a scientist who had his molecules disassembled then rebuilt by a device called an Intrinsic Field Subtractor. Unfortunately, he wasn't rebuilt as a human, but as a glowing blue god.

Dr Manhattan is omnipotent. His shapes reality and time, and he can create multiple versions of himself and survive being disassembled again. He manipulates matter at the atomic level and builds elaborate structures with a thought.

He doesn't need food, water, or air to survive, and can teleport around the universe at will. He sees all timelines at once, giving him insight into what has happened, what is happening, what will happen, and how they all intersect.

For decades, Dr Manhattan existed only in the Watchmen universe. That changed in 2016, when his reality was introduced to the greater DC universe. With that, it was revealed that Dr Manhattan had orchestrated Flashpoint, which led to the New 52 timeline, meaning that in comic canon, he manipulated events in the DC universe for at least a decade.

His potential is limitless.

Luckily, he is endlessly curious and constantly strives to understand human nature. Better that than wiping us all out, which he could in a heartbeat.
