After establishing the Dark Avengers, Norman Osborn goes on to severely manipulate the occasionally volatile hero the Sentry (who is also one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe). It all begins when Osborn starts ordering the Sentry to not hold back and essentially kill Morgan Le Fay (who was attacking Doctor Doom, at the time). Although she somehow survives, Sentry is nevertheless left at odds with himself about what he has done.

Osborn nevertheless continues to manipulate him, however, and with time, the Sentry becomes more and more unhinged. The climax of this inescapable trainwreck finally comes when Osborn commands Sentry to kill his fellow Avenger Ares (who began to realize that Osborn was really just using Sentry for his own bidding).

Foe and hero alike then must band together to restrain Sentry, after he kills Loki and merges with the Void. Strange as it is might be to see heroes and villains working together, but really that's just the true extent of the danger that Sentry can sometimes represent.
