10 Comic Book Characters Who Have NEVER Had Their Identities Exposed

2. Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman's secret identity is a bit tricky, and it's got a strange sort of twist that's played out over her 75+ years of publication history. Her real name is Princess Diana of Themyscira, which is more commonly known to the world as Wonder Woman, but she has a secret civilian identity as well.

Her civilian identity is Diana Prince, which she borrowed from a real person. She essentially bought the identity of Diana Prince from a nurse who went off to get married and become Diana White. Eventually, she returned and asked for her identity back, which Wonder Woman agreed to do without any issues.

Very few people knew of her identity as Diana Prince and Wonder Woman, though her colleagues in the Justice League were certainly aware of it. Despite the fact that she doesn't look any different in either persona, other than a wardrobe change, the public never pieced together the fact that Diana Prince was Princess Diana.

The DC Universe doesn't have the smartest civilians, but that's pretty much on the nose. Regardless, she was once institutionalized in her Diana Prince persona, and when she told the staff she was Wonder Woman, they didn't believe her, which makes sense when you think about it, even if she looks exactly like who she claimed to be.
