10 Comic Book Characters Who Keep Changing Identities
2. Bruce Banner - Ten Superhero Identities
Dr. Robert "Bruce" Banner is one of the most well-known comic book characters, not for being Bruce; rather, it's for being the big green menace known as the Incredible Hulk. Banner was transformed into the jade giant thanks to getting caught in the blast wave of a Gamma Bomb, and he's been jumping between the two identities ever since.
The thing about the Hulk, though is, he's had a ton of different identities, and they are all linked to Bruce Banner. Because of this, anytime the Hulk shifts into a new type of monster, or takes on a new persona, the list of Banner's superhero alter-egos gets longer.
The list is fairly long, thanks to numerous storylines created to explain Banner's fractured psyche. In addition to the beginning green one known as the Savage Hulk, he has also been Joe Fixit (Grey Hulk), Devil Hulk, Professor Hulk (the merged mind of Banner in the Hulk's body), The Beast, Mindless Hulk, the Green Scar, World-Breaker Hulk, Doc Green, and Maestro.
Maestro is a Hulk from the future who is considerably more malevolent than previous incarnations of the Hulk. His best-known incarnation remains the Savage Hulk, though he has been shown to possess greater intelligence than he originally did in the 1960s. The modern Hulk is smarter, stronger, and more savage than he once was.
