10 Comic Book Deaths That Haven't Been Undone

5. Ben Reilly

Ben Reilly is one of many clones of Peter Parker that comic book fans have had to wrap their heads around over the years. Some time after the second Clone Saga, Peter gave up being Spider-Man and focused on his personal life, leaving Reilly to take up the mantle (although Reilly had previously preferred the name Scarlet Spider).

This didn'€™t end well. The original Green Goblin returned and made short work of Reilly (who was at a disadvantage due a gas that had removed his Spider-Sense). Peter was drawn back in to the fight, but Reilly still ended up dead from Goblin glider impalement. Peter scattered Reilly€™s ashes and resumed the responsibilities of Spider-Man. Ben Reilly never made a return, although fans and writers alike have expressed an interest in somehow seeing him reincarnated over the years.

Reilly€™'s legacy is still felt in the comics, though. Notably, in recent years Peter€™s previously-evil clone Kaine has been repurposed as a new version of Scarlet Spider.
