10 Comic Book Heroes Who Died Horrible Deaths

4. Blob Ate The Wasp

The Ultimate Universe was created to write stories using classic Marvel heroes and villains without having to deal with the decades of continuity. What happened was that stories became increasingly violent and risqué. For example, the relationship between Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, which grew violent only once in the main 616 Universe, was an often abusive affair in the 1610 Universe.

The Wasp pulled away from but did not fully divorce Giant-Man. Instead, she began dating Captain America and even became the leader of the Avengers when the team started to become independent from S.H.I.E.L.D. During the 2009 Ultimatum event and the subsequent mass flooding of Manhattan, Janet was separated from Earth's Mightiest Heroes. She was later found by Hank and Hawkeye.

The mutant Blob had cracked open Wasp's chest and was eating her. The corpulent villain even said that she tasted like chicken. It is unclear if she had drowned first or if she was alive for part of the Blob’s sadistic feast. Enraged, Hank grew to giant size, bit Blob’s head off, and spat it out.

The Wasp, Hank, who had later been killed by Madrox, and the other deceased Ultimates were resurrected by The Maker, their world’s villainous Reed Richards as part of a complicated plan to merge all realities. This plan thwarted, the Ultimates now travel the Multiverse in pursuit of the Maker
