10 Comic Book Sidekicks Better Than Their Mentors

6. X-23

Finding someone to be worthy of a fight with Wolverine is much easier said than done. It almost seems one would have to clone someone from his DNA to be able to best the fast healing mutant. Luckily, there is a female copy of Logan that is feral and built for the same reason Weapon X was, to become the ultimate death-dealing machine.

Wolverine adopted and mentored the young lady berserker, but X-23 would eventually take over the moniker of Wolverine after being trained by her newfound father figure. And rightfully so, considering Logan's daughter has all of her father's strengths and not many of his weaknesses.

For one thing, Wolverine's entire skeleton is coated with Adamantium while only X-23's claws are covered with the rare metal, making her faster and more agile. Instead of having three claws, she has two on each hand and one on each foot, thus giving her double the deadly appendages.

Like Wolverine, they both have accelerated regeneration powers so they can survive anything they throw at each other. But Wolverine's sidekick is conditioned to a "trigger scent" which sends her into a berserker rage viciously attacking anyone close by, including Logan.
