Probably the most well known species on this list, the 5th Dimension Imps in DC comics have two very well known named characters in Mister Mxyzptlk and Bat-Mite. As the name of their species would suggest, they come from the 5th Dimension - an inter-dimensional reality that exists outside of the normally accepted space/time continuum in the DC universe. Due to its five dimensional properties, this reality functions with a completely different set of physics to those found in typical three dimensional environments and, as a result, things that appear to be magic - or even physically impossible - can be carried out with relative ease by these beings. For comparison, the power that the likes of Mister Mxyzptlk possess dwarfs that of Superman's. Indeed, Myyzptlk likes to toy with Superman and he can do it without any possibility of Superman stopping him (unless he is tricked in to saying his own name backwards), because Superman is powerless to stop a being whose powers enable him to do literally anything with a mere thought. 5th Dimensional Imps can essentially warp reality on a universal scale - something that was displayed when the Joker acquired 99% of Mxyzptlk's power and was able to reshape the entire universe in his own image and do crazy things like erase the colour white from existence.
