10 Comic Book Supervillains Who Have Died The Most

5. Ra's Al Ghul

Thanos Death
DC Comics

Like the Joker, Ra's Al Ghul has a reputation for cheating death. Ra's has lived for six centuries by exposing himself to a primordial liquid called The Lazarus Pit. Not only can this pool of energy extend one's life, but it can heal any wound, as well as resurrect someone who has recently died.

When Batman tried to confront Ra's in Batman #243, his daughter, Talia, revealed her father was dead. After seeing his corpse, Batman left, oblivious that Ra's was preparing to be revived in The Lazarus Pit moments later. This was the first of many times the readers witnessed Ra's come back from the dead.

Although he has been seemingly killed by swords, knives, bullets, and a circus tent, Ra's comes back stronger than ever. After Ra's was murdered by his other daughter, Nyssa, and cremated, Batman assumed the Demon's Head was finally gone for good.

Now, cremation may kill the average supervillain, but it's no big deal for Ra's. You see, Ra's was an alchemist and an occultist, giving him vast knowledge on reincarnation After his followers performed a ritual, his soul was transferred into the body of his son, Dusan.
