10 Comic Book Supervillains Who Have Died The Most

4. The Jackal (Ben Reilly)

Thanos Death
Marvel

After learning how to develop human clones, Miles Warren became the supervillain known as The Jackal. His most infamous moment is when he created a clone of Spider-Man called Ben Reilly, and convinced him he was the real Spider-Man, and Peter Parker was the clone.

For his experiments, Miles killed Ben Reilly and cloned him back to life twenty-three times. Realising he was trapped in a cycle of death and rebirth, Reilly escaped, created a clone army, and became the new Jackal.

Now, Reilly may have been seen as a hero to many readers for years, but he clearly moved into supervillain territory as soon as he began enslaving, torturing, and killing his clones to fit his own agenda.

Although Spider-Man saw Ben Reilly as one of his closest allies, he believed his old friend had gone mad when he took on the mantle of the Jackal. Reilly reassured Spider-Man that he was using the cloning technology to resurrect all the people they failed to save.

When Spidey accused his old friend of playing God, Reilly showed his true colours, and had his clone army attack him. After being defeated, Reilly realised the error of his ways, and has since tried to redeem himself.
