10 Comic Book Supervillains Who Have Died The Most

3. Solomon Grundy

Thanos Death
DC Comics

After a gangster called Cyrus Gold was murdered in the late 19th century, his body was dumped in the mysterious Slaughter Swamp.

Fifty years later, the corpse reanimated into a hulking zombie called Solomon Grundy and went on a murder streak. In his debut, he was defeated by the first Green Lantern, Alan Scott, after the superhero shoved Grundy in front of an oncoming train, tearing the zombie to bits.

However, it takes more than being splattered into a thousand pieces to take out Grundy. Due to the magical properties of Slaughter Swamp, Grundy will resurrect himself soon after he perishes.

Since Grundy possesses superstrength as well as immortality, superheroes like Superman and Wonder Woman don't have to hold back while fighting him. In Grundy's many battles against the Justice League and the Justice Society, he has been cannonballed by Superman, ripped to shreds by Red Tornado, incinerated and drowned by Batman, blown up in a spaceship, and abandoned on the Moon.

Despite the fact the heroes of Earth have killed Grundy dozens of times, they know he will never stay buried for long.
