The real tragedy of Pamela Lillian Isley is that she has no control over her own villainy. As the daughter of wealthy parents, the Seattle native left for college to study advanced botanical biochemistry. Isley was a brilliant student but was seduced by her professor Dr. Jason Woodrue. For totally inexplicable reasons, Woodrue decided to inject Isley with a plant-based poison. This poison not only had terrible physiological effects on Isley; it also had a damaging impact on her mind.

Still, Isley tried to soldier on and continue college. Yet, as her mind deteriorated, she became the Poison Ivy, we know and love today. Poison Ivy is, first and foremost, an eco-terrorist. As she came to believe that she was the physical embodiment of mother nature, she was increasingly concerned about mankind's terrible influence on the environment.

And with climate change in full swing, you really have to ask yourself? Is Poison Ivy that wrong about us?
