Magog debuted in the wildly popular Kingdom Come graphic novel. In the story, Magog represented a new generation of metahuman superheroes. These heroes were much harsher with how they dispensed justice. Magog filled in the absences of Superman with the Man of Steel retired from public view.

One of Magog's first acts to gain him notoriety was to publicly execute The Joker. Though he surrenders himself to authorities, he was later acquitted by a jury. As it turns out, the public didn't have much love for the Joker after the Clown Prince murdered the Daily Planet staff.

Magog went on to inspire a generation of violent superheroes. He led an attack on a criminal named Parasite, which sparked a battle in the middle of Kansas. During the campaign, Captain Atom reached critical mass, creating a nuclear explosion. Magog was instantly blamed and vilified for this event.

Traumatized by the incident, Magog gave up his life as a superhero and spent the rest of his days healing the injured on Themyscira.
