10 Comic Book Villains Who Killed Their Greatest Rival

2. Bullseye Kills Daredevil - Daredevil: End Of Days

Bullseye Wolverine Old Man Logan
Marvel Comics

In perhaps the most underrated murder of a hero in comic history, Bullseye's gory, drawn-out destruction of the Man Without Fear in End of Days goes a significant way towards making the series one of the best Daredevil comics around.

With so many superhero deaths feeling abrupt, the visceral two-hour brawl the pair engage in feels all the more dramatic, exemplified by its climax - where Bullseye shoves one of Daredevil's batons straight through his head, in a moment that is sure to have led to some genuine gasps from first-time readers.

This death is doubly underrated for how effectively it sets up the plot. Instead of just being a dramatic moment at the end of a series, End of Days uses this moment to set up a mystery that we watch both Ben Ulrich and Bullseye himself try to solve, as Daredevil's final word - 'Mapone' - leads each on a trail through Hell's Kitchen to try and uncover the truth.

A death that is both absolutely shocking and sets up a fantastic plot? You can't get much better.
