10 Comic Books You Didn't Know Were Written By Celebrities

8. House Of Gold & Bones - Corey Taylor

Umbrella Academy Gerard Way
Dark Horse Comics

There are a lot of transferrable skills that come with writing music and with writing comics, and Corey Taylor was able to put all of these together to create House of Gold and Bones, something of a companion piece to the two-part Stone Sour album of the same name.

Taylor is arguably more well known in the mainstream for his work with Slipknot, but has also enjoyed a very successful career as the voice of Stone Sour, the band with which he released the double feature concept album of the same name as his comic.

The two projects go hand in hand, in that while the 23 tracks across the two albums vaguely touch on the major points and themes of the story, the comic gives a much deeper exploration and truer telling of the story.

Though many bands have put out comic books, the likes of Iron Maiden's Legacy of the Beast, Alter Bridge's Tour of Horrors, or any books Kiss lent their name to were never actually written by the band themselves. Corey Taylor is the exception to this rule.
