10 Comic Books You Didn't Know Were Written By Celebrities
9. Frenemy Of The State - Rashida Jones
Whether you loved her as Ann Perkins in Parks and Rec, or hated her as Karen Filippelli in The Office, you cannot deny that Rashida Jones is incredibly talented. One of her lesser-known talents perhaps, rather than her on-screen ability, is her prowess for writing.
She was originally hired to write the screenplay for the wildly popular Toy Story 4, however she left under Pixar somewhat of a dark cloud. While this would have been the most well-known project on her writing CV, she can still boast having her very own comic book published back in 2010.
Frenemy of the State was released after Jones' time in Scranton but while she was still a permanent resident of Pawnee, and followed protagonist Ariana Von Holmberg who bore a striking resemblance to the writer herself. As both a high-flying socialite and CIA operative, this was a classic case of a double life coming together.
Much like with Rosario Dawson's Occult Crimes Taskforce, the movie rights to Rashida Jones' almost coming of age spy story have been picked up. This was by Universal Pictures, which is naturally a pretty big deal, however 13 years have passed since this news broke so the chances of seeing Von Holmberg on the big screen now are slim to none.
