10 Comic Books You Didn't Know Were Written By Celebrities

6. Spider-Man/Deadpool - Penn Jillette

Umbrella Academy Gerard Way
Marvel Comics

There are plenty of celebrities that inhabit the pages of the Marvel Universe, but how many of them actually got to introduce themselves into the lore of this iconic world? Not many, but one who did get to enjoy such a privilege in 2016 was Penn Jillette.

As one half of one of the best magical duos in the history of magic, Penn Jillette also has a fair amount of writing credits to his name. Many of these are for Penn & Teller in some way or another, but only one was for Marvel.

Taking the reigns on issue 11 of Spider-Man/Deadpool, Jillette brought himself and his silent partner into the Marvel Universe as something of a crossover with Spider-Man and Deadpool. With two sets of duos, it would be stupid not to take advantage of the possibility of swapping partners, even just for a short time.

Teller became the new face behind the Deadpool mask, while Wade Wilson had to become Jillette's new magic partner. He didn't know what was worse, the torture he was put through on stage, or not being able to speak.
