10 Comic Villains Who Were Right All Along

2. Ozymandias

Ozymandias Watchmen
DC Comics

When it's first revealed in Watchmen that Ozymandias' crazy plan to unite the world is to launch a fake alien invasion that will wipe out half of New York, it seems like the single most hog wild plan possible. The minute Adrian tells his fellow Watchmen, they all immediately tear it apart, calling him out for the destruction that his crimes will cause, with Veidt's arguments that this will still cause fewer deaths than the impending and ongoing wars falling on deaf ears.

But, as callous as this argument is, it's also completely correct. Not only does the 'alien attack' stop the Cold War, but it also ends all ongoing hostilities between nations, as the world comes together to prepare for an outside threat.

Similarly, his logic about why the other heroes shouldn't expose this conspiracy - namely, that this would undo any of the positive impact that these deaths resulted in - is also right, as all the Watchmen bar Rorschach willingly admit.

What Ozymandias does isn't okay in any way, but his logic - sick and twisted as it is - is also impeccable.
