10 Comic Villains Who Were Right All Along

3. Virginia

Virginia Vision
DC Comics

After Vision's wife had killed Victor Mancha, The Grim Reaper, and Leon Kinsky, it seems reasonably fair to say she had started to inadvertently become one of the biggest villains of Tom King's 2018 Vision series.

But Virginia is also perhaps one of the best examples of how well-meaning terrible acts can be, as everything she does is in order to protect her family, who are repeatedly threatened by those who fear their robotic capabilities.

Her murder of the Reaper is accidental; her murder of Kinsky is only after he says he will kill all of her family; and her murder of Victor Mancha, most tragically, is because she knows Vision will kill him otherwise, and that if he does so the whole family will be seen as dangerous and shut down - whereas Virginia can claim to be a rogue agent.

This leads up to the single most heartbreaking scene in the entire series, where the android mother confesses all of her crimes in detail in order to keep her family safe. It's not quite The Taken, but in terms of seeing people take care of their families, it tugs at exactly the same heartstrings.
