5. Lobo
Death Toll: Billions
Lobo is one of those characters who just loves to kill. He's not necessarily a bad guy, but rather has his own moral code that permits him to do pretty much anything he wants for any reason he sees fit. Over the years, the character has changed, but at his core, Lobo is a psychotic killing machine.
He once killed the entire population of his home planet for a science project. It took about a week, but a complex plague he created went through the population of Czarnia resulting in the deaths of billions of people, which left him to be the last Czarnian.
In another story, he gets killed and finds himself in the afterlife. While there, he "kills" everyone he meets including the full force of all the angels and demons of heaven and hell. Seeing as those folks were already dead, they don't count towards his impressive kill count, but it's worth noting.
Ultimately, his biggest pile of bodies remain on the planet of his origin. He's killed untold thousands of people over the years while hunting bounties across the galaxy, which is certainly impressive (for this list), but his greatest slaughter was definitely of his own people; he even gave himself an "A" for the science project...
